Anthony Tolud, a passionate producer from the Bronx, New York, wanted to refine his sound and hone his skills. While searching for an accelerated audio engineering course, he came across Sound Academy.
“I found Sound Academy while searching for audio engineering courses on Google. Some were too expensive, then I discovered Sound Academy. At first, I had doubts because of its lack of presence in the United States. But seeing that the school was well-established in France, I decided to give it a try.”
This gamble proved to be a transformative experience, integrating Anthony into an artistic community that helped him progress both professionally and creatively.
Anthony describes the enormous difference between his music before and after Sound Academy.
“There’s an astronomical difference in my sound. Before, I knew nothing about analog gear. Attack, Release, Ratio, Threshold—I didn’t even know what they were. By following the program, everything became clear. I learned the why and the how, not just the what.”
Sound Academy’s music production training allowed him to deepen his skills in mixing, mastering, and sound engineering—essential elements for perfecting his craft.
Beyond technical skills, Anthony particularly values the connections he made during the program. “What I liked best about Sound Academy was the networking—being surrounded by people with the same goals and mindset in music. If I couldn’t do something for a project, I could delegate it to someone in my class.”
These connections still help him today when working on more ambitious and complex musical projects.

« Avec Tyree, David et Matthew, nous avons collaboré sur plusieurs projets. J’ai envoyé un beat à David, et on l’a joué en classe. Puis, on a enregistré pendant la pause déjeuner. On a fait ça pendant des semaines, collaboré, appris ensemble… et à la fin, on a sorti un morceau — "Sound Academy Session 2". »
This opportunity to work in a professional studio allowed Anthony to gain valuable experience that traditional schools do not always offer.
Anthony emphasizes Sound Academy's engaging and effective teaching approach. "With Lucho and Phil at Quad Studios, it was like learning with colleagues rather than teachers. Once the concepts were mastered, we really had fun. Learning in such an environment made all the difference."
The opportunity to experiment, make mistakes, and receive immediate feedback fostered his artistic growth and creativity.
“If you already have experience, this training is definitely worth the investment. If you’re serious, you’ll see results. But if you’re not motivated, don’t take this course. This program is a game changer for aspiring sound engineers. I didn’t need four years of study to learn all this—it’s worth far more than the price.”
His ultimate ambition is to open his own recording studio, but for now, he's focused on networking, showcases, and working with artists. He's currently mixing his girlfriend's project in preparation for its official release. Thanks to Sound Academy, he's acquired the necessary foundation to progress in the field of audio engineering and music production.
